Thirteen guards exited their vans with their pistol locked and loaded. They wore maroon uniform and armoured jacket with Simonovsky Tech’s logo. A masked man with tall stature walked out last.

They marched through the alley—combat ready with solid formation. The vanguards approached the entrance door and peeked in.

“Hey fellas!” Bryant stood in front of the stairs. “Situation is under control here. We mercenaries are in the process of seizing the intruder.”

With confused look on each other, the vanguards nodded and stepped back.

The masked man arrived.

“So you are the one the CEO hired?” his voice mumbled behind the mask. “Back off.”

“No can do, buddy,” Bryant crossed his arms. “It’s a tight corridor down there, and assaulting in numbers is strategically redundant, if not destructive. We mercenaries have this.”

The masked man sighed. He raised his arms.

The guards aimed at Bryant and fired.

Bryant covered his face with his arms and endured five seconds of bullet shower, exposing a green armoured suit hidden underneath his jacket. Still with his arms forming a cross, the big man charged forward and pummelled through the vanguards. The masked man sidestepped as the raging bull went past.

“Negotiation failed, guys,” Bryant’s shoulder piece ejected a metal, slowly crawling over his face bottom-up and formed a helmet piece. “They won’t even listen to me.”

“You’re a shitty talker, big guy,” Audi sighed over the channel. “Don’t let anyone down the stairs! We’re almost done.”

“Gotcha,” Bryant clenched his arms, and sparks of electricity spurted out of his joints. He switched to a running start position and dashed towards the main guard formation. Eight people fired at the big man, but his armour deflected all the bullets. He grabbed a guard by his neck midway and punched another like using a brass knuckle. “Big mistake carrying guns to a fist-fight with me, amateurs!”

Bryant activated his power-arm unit and grasped a car next to him. He lifted it like feather and threw it at a cluster of guard. Everyone dodged except one who got smashed under it.

“I killed one,” he said.

“No!” Matthew’s voice rung over the communicator. “You’re jeopardising our contract, idiot!”

“They’re shooting at me, Matty,” Bryant charged like a bull towards a guard and missed, crushing a wall behind him down. “What do you want me to do? Pat their head or something?”

“I agreed to this trespassing plan on the condition that no Simonovsky Tech employee is harmed!” Matthew replied. “Do you think the CEO will pay us when he finds out we killed his employee?”

“I can’t not defend myself, can I?” Bryant swung a punch at a guard and slammed him down. “Incapacitated another.”

“Damnit!” Matthew shouted. “Let’s get out of here. I don’t know anymore. Shit!”

“Matty?” Bryant asked, but Matthew hung up.

The masked man stepped out of the hidden door and clenched his fist. He stood straight with both his arms relaxed on his sides.

The captain of this guard team is proud of his ass, Bryant chuckled. I’ll teach him a lesson.

He clenched his fist.

Bryant sprinted towards the masked man and pummelled through obstacles.
